Cherie (she/her) is a choreographer, dancer, teacher, and scholar whose work explores human expression and its interplay with music, visual imagery, and the natural world. As the founder and artistic director of IrieDance, she has created performances that engage audiences across diverse cultural and architectural spaces, including the Live Oak Theatre, African American Cultural Center, Black Choreographer’s Festival, Anschultz Theatre, Bao Bao Festival, P.L.A.C.E. Performance, San Francisco Cathedral, Omni Oakland Commons, SF Moving Arts Festival, Kinetech Arts, Alena Museum, Milk Bar, SAFEhouse Arts, and the Dance A World of Hope Festival in Holland, MI. A dedicated educator and mentor, Hill fosters collaboration and experimentation in emerging dancers, emphasizing the integration of somatic awareness, cultural storytelling, and site-specific practice. Her work is rooted in community connection, environmental consciousness, and a commitment to expanding the possibilities of dance as both an expressive and transformative medium.
