Artist Space Trust offers housing opportunities to Bay Area artists as they become available. Because housing availability is shaped by funding cycles, property timelines, and stewardship capacity, opportunities open at different times and are limited in number.

CalHome Down Payment Assistance for Artists
AST currently offers down payment assistance through the CalHome program, supporting income-qualified artists purchasing their first home in the San Francisco Bay Area.
This program provides financial assistance to help reduce barriers to homeownership for artists who are ready to buy but face challenges accessing upfront capital.
Program highlights include:
Down payment assistance for first-time homebuyers
Income eligibility based on Area Median Income
Homes must be owner-occupied and meet program requirements
