Alex Acuña
Real Estate Project Manager
Alex Acuña (he/him) is an organizer and housing justice practitioner based in Oakland. He deeply believes in the CLT model and has worked on anti-displacement strategies in Los Angeles, Boston, Mexico City, the Bronx, and here in the Bay. Most recently Alex served as a Stewardship Coordinator at the Oakland Community Land Trust, where he grew OakCLT's homeownership programs, managed home sales, cultivated OakCLT's tenant-to-homeowner pipeline, facilitated community trainings, and strengthened community partnerships.
As a proud 4th-generation East Bay resident and the child of artists/creative entrepreneurs, he is committed to growing AST's footprint in the community to keep artists and culture makers rooted. Alex has practiced many forms of art throughout his life, including painting, dancing, stained glass, collage, and sculpture, and hopes that working at AST will encourage him to reconnect with his artistic practice. He holds a BA in Urban and Environmental Policy from Occidental College and a Master's in City Planning from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
